The headlight has the light-source or bulb (16) mounted on a support fitted through the rear of the reflector (12) and held in place by a sprung fitting. The bulb is contacted by a connecting contact which connects with a pin 38) on an outside socket. A second pin (39) provides the earth return connection. The earth return pin is connected to the spring (42) and thereby to a metal plate in the base of the bulb socket. The socket is assembled to secure the bulb without rotating and the cable connector is fitted with a simple press fit.
