CONTROLLER FOR ELEVATORS

A controller for elevators, comprising an elevator hall (5) where a cage (12) stops and passengers get on and off the cage, an elevator shaft (10) in which the cage ascends and descends, a control console (17) for controlling stoppage, ascent and descent of the cage, the control console being so disposed in the elevator shaft as not to interfere with the ascent and descent of the cage, and a mechanism for drawing out the control console to the elevator hall. Accordingly, it is possible to make effective use of the space in the elevator shaft and to readily make use of the elevator hall, which is not used by passengers at the time of maintenance, for the maintenance work.
