A roller leveler, comprising an upper roller assembly (1) assembled with the large diameter ends of a plurality of taper rollers (7) having flanges (14) at their small diameter ends aligned at one end and a lower roller assembly (2) assembled with the large diameter ends of a plurality of taper rollers (8) having flanges (15) at their small ends reversed in lateral direction to the taper rollers (7), wherein the axes of the upper and lower taper rollers (7 and 8) are tilted by a half of the apex angle of the taper rollers relative to the passing surface of a plate material (50) and arranged in staggered form opposedly to each other, and a plate or a band plate (50) is passed through a clearance between the upper and lower taper rollers so as to apply a repeated bending to it for stress relieving.
