Preparation of emulsifying agent-free stable aqueous polyurethane and/or polyurethane-polyurea-containing dispersions of increased strength by reaction of (a) dihydroxy compounds of molecular weight 500 to 10,000 g/mol, (b) diisocyanaes, (c) difunctional compounds with ionic or potentially ionic groups, and (d) adhesion promotor. An Independent claim is included for emulsifying agent-free aqueous polyurethane and/or polyurethane-polyurea-containing dispersions obtainable as above.
