<p>An implement adapter (20) for providing improved excavation versatility that couples with and attaches to an excavation tool assembly (10) for mounting a working implement (40) thereon. The implement adapter (20) comprises a frame (21) for holding a working implement, wherein the frame is coupled and semi-fixedly attached to an excavation tool assembly (10). A parking projection (23) holds the coupling element (28) of the frame (21) at a sufficient height above a surface when the implement adapter (20) is detached from the excavation tool assembly (10) and supported on the surface by the parking projection (23) and a lowermost portion of either the frame (33) or the working implement (40). The height at which the coupling portion (28) is held by the parking projection (23) enables engagement of the coupling portion (28) with a cooperative coupling element (18) on the excavation tool assembly (10) without the need for any manual assistance. Additionally, the implement adapter (20) is capable of mounting upon various sizes of excavation tools and articulating attached working implements in multiple ranges of motion.</p> |
