摘要 PURPOSE: Disclosed is a positioning system for locating objects in places where standard Global Position System (GPS) signals do not penetrate. CONSTITUTION: A first embodiment uses a GPS receiver (54) and a clock recovery unit. A computer (72) receives the positional information and accurate time information. The computer (72) calculates new orbital data for at least four pseudo satellites. The pseudo satellites are antennas positioned in an interior or shielded space and function to send pseudo satellite data to a receiver. In a second embodiment, the positions of the pseudo satellites are provided to the computer (72) without the use of a GPS receiver (54). An accurate clock signal is also provided. The computer (72) calculates orbital data for each pseudo satellite and transmits the time signal and ephemeris data for each pseudo satellite. The time signal is delayed for each pseudo satellite to account for propagation delays due to different connecting cable lengths.
