PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ornament, such as a MIZUHIKI (Japanese paper string) or a ribbon, as a gorgeous commodity having a good appearance without enhancing a material and processing costs. SOLUTION: This ornament is punched out of a thin piece 2 having a deposited film 1 applied thereto in a knot shape 3. An emboss 4 can be applied to the thin piece 2. The method for preparing the ornament comprises the steps of applying the emboss 4 to the deposited metal film-applied part of the thin piece, and punching out the thin piece 2 in the knot-shape 3.
