摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a biologically analyte at high sensitivity by bringing a specimen into contact with opaque glass carrier when the analyte is labeled in a state existing in the specimen with a fluorescent material and by irradiating the specimen with exciting light to detect fluorescent radiant light. SOLUTION: When detecting an analyte (e.g. nucleic acid or the like) in a specimen, the method of this invention is to provide opaque glass carrier having surfaces brought into contact with the specimen, in which the analyte is labeled in a state existing in a specimen with a fluorescent coloring matter, to irradiate the surface of the carrier with light having the wavelength exciting the fluorescent coloring matter, and to detect fluorescent radiant light generated from the surface as an indicator of the existence of the analyte in the specimen. Background fluorescent radiation is significantly lower than that in the conventional assay method and a biologically analyte in the specimen is detected at high sensitivity. The analyte is pref. combined with the surface of a carrier through a capture probe having specificity to the analyte and immobilized on the surface of a carrier.
