PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate assembly of a wire and to improve productivity, in a toroidal type continuously variable transmission formed that the wire is run around and between trunnions serving as support members for a plurality of rollers and the inclination angles of all the trunnions and the rollers are equalized with each other. SOLUTION: A wire running around and between trunnions 231 and 232, interlocked with each other, form two linear wires 41 and 42 running one at a time in the forward and reverse inclining directions of the trunnions 231 and 232. This constitution reduces a part cost and a mounting cost for producing an endless annular wire. Further, extremely general processing and molding of the trunnions 231 and 232 suffice for production of the wire.
