PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To examine by a digestive tract endoscopy up to a deep part in shorter time, relieve a subjects pain, by preparing a balloon catheter which can be inserted from a forceps hole of an endoscope and has a size to close intestinal tract lumen. SOLUTION: When an endoscope is advanced to an intracosporeal depth of a subject as usual at the time of a digestive tract endoscopy, a catheter is inserted from a forceps hole of the endoscope in a state that a balloon 1 provided at a distal end is contracted and the catheter is advanced up to digestive tract of the deep part. At this time, the catheter is easily inserted by using a guide wire 5. After the catheter is advanced up to a prescribed depth, the balloon 1 at the distal end is dilated and intestinal tract is temporarily retained. In this state, the endoscope is carefully pulled and the distal end of the endoscope is advanced to the deep part along the catheter so as to remove excess bending. By repeating this work, the distal end of the endoscope is successively advanced to the deep part and a digestive tract is examined by the endoscopy.
