摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regenerate a catalyst in a degree of regeneration equal to or more than that achieved by washing of conventional technique in low cost without discharging waste water. SOLUTION: A coating layer containing a catalyst component containing either one of titanium oxide and vanadium oxide, titanium oxide, vanadium oxide and molybdenum oxide, titanium oxide, vanadium oxide and tungsten oxide and titanium oxide, vanadium oxide, molybdenum oxide and tungsten oxide and a sulfate radical is provided on the surface of an exhaust gas denitration catalyst lowered in its activity by the adhesion of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal element. The coating layer is formed on the surface of a deteriorated catalyst by applying a slurry prepared from a powder of a catalyst component, sulfuric acid and/or sulfate and water by a spray method or an immersion method. In the relation of the amt. of the sulfate radical supported on the deteriorated catalyst and the amt. of a deteriorated component, the sulfate radical is supported so that the total chemical equivalent of the supported sulfate radical and that of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal is larger than 1.
