PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fully automatic replenishment function of signature in which the automation of the replenishment of signatures onto a signature stand of a gathering machine forming an inlet to a book-binding line is realized inexpensively, labor and space are saved, interference is eliminated in compliance with the restriction of spaces between respective blocks and the operation is carried out without failure. SOLUTION: When remaining signatures O piled up on a signature stand 2 are running short, a replenishment demand signal is issued from a signature replenishment sensor 21 to a control means, and signatures of given amount are separated from the upper section of signatures O piled up into the laminar shape on a corresponding stocker 4 by a signature pile separation means 5. A separated pile O1 is carried on a signature replenishment carriage 6 by a signature replenishment carriage driving means, and the carried signature pile O1 is replenished automatically from the signature stocker 4 to the corresponding signature stand 2.
