PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light-colored electroconductive pigment that has a higher conductivity by coating a base material with an electroconductive layer made of a tin oxide layer doped with phosphorus and fluorine. SOLUTION: A base material is suspended in water, then a solution of a hydrolyzable tin salt, an aqueous solution of a phosphorus compound and/or aqueous solution of a fluoride are measured and charged to the suspension. Simultaneously, an acid or a base is added to maintain the pH of the suspension of the base material at a certain level in a pH range of 1-5. Then, the coated base material is taken out, washed, dried and fired at 400-1,100 deg.C in the absence of oxygen whereby the objective light-colored electroconductive pigment is obtained that is coated with the electroconductive layer made of tin oxide layer doped with phosphorus and/or fluorine. |
