PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the defective quality caused by sticking of dross in a snout at the time of executing continuous galvanizing with zinc base molten metal by quickly discharging gas containing metallic vapor in a furnace to the outside of the furnace without using a device forcibly sucking the gas in the furnace, such as a blower, so as to enable separation and recovery of the metallic vapor contained in the exhaust gas with simple equipment. SOLUTION: At the time of executing the continuous galvanizing of the steel strip S with molten metal by dipping the steel strip S passed through the inside of the snout 3 connected with an annealing furnace 1 at the one end and dipped into the galvanizing bath at the other end, the gas containing the metallic vapor in the snout 3 is discharged to the outside of the furnace from the lower part of the snout 3 and the condensed and solidified material of the metallic vapor is separated and recovered by the inertial collection method with a separating and recovering device 24.
