<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound having a specific chemical structure and convertible into a matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor. SOLUTION: The objective compound is expressed by formula I [R1 is a 1-6C alkyl or a (substituted) benzyl; R2 and R3 are each a 1-6C alkyl or together form a 3- to 7-membered cycloalkyl, pyran-4-yl ring or the like; Q is a 1-6C alkyl, a 6-10C aryl or the like; Y is H, a 1-6C alkyl or a proper protecting group], e.g. 3-[[4-(4-fluorophenoxy)benzenesulfonyl]-(1- hydroxycarbamoylcyclopentyl)amino]propionic acid. The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula III in the presence of a base (e.g. tetrabutylammonium fluoride) and a polar solvent (e.g. tetrahydrofuran).</p> |
