PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an emulsion composition having excellent hardenability, stability and film-forming property, and useful as a coating material, an adhesive, a sealing agent, a composition for paper processing.fiber, for a photosensitive material, for civil engineering.building, or the like, by including an emulsion of a polymer and a compound having an epoxy group and a hydrolyzable silyl group. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (A) an emulsion of a polymer having an acetoacetyl group and (B) a compound having at least one epoxy group and at least one hydrolyzable silyl group. The component A is polymerizable by an emulsion polymerization and a surfactant used therefor is exemplified by a fatty acid soap, and its using amount is preferably 0.5-10% of the whole monomer. A polymerization initiator is exemplified by potassium persulfate and its using amount is preferably 0.5-5% of the whole monomer. A mol number of the epoxy group in the component B is preferably 0.2-2 times the mol number of the acetoacetyl group in the component A.
