PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow accurate tests to be conducted on the characteristics of an oxide superconductor even when a low-frequency large current is applied by using a superconducting coil made of a metal-sheathed, Bi-containing oxide superconducting wire as a first coil of a low-voltage-side circuit. SOLUTION: A circuit having a superconducting transformer comprises a primary circuit connecting primary coil 1 to an AC power source 2, and a secondary circuit connecting a secondary coil 3 to a superconductor (sample) 5 through superconducting leads 4a and 4b. The primary circuit has a resistance R1 such as leads for connecting the coil 1 to the power source 2, and the secondary circuit has resistances Rj1 and Rj2 connecting the leads 4a and 4b to the coil 3 and resistances Rj3 and Rj4 connecting the leads 4a and 4b to the superconductor 5. The coil 1 is constructed of a normal conducting coil or a superconducting coil made of a metal-sheathed, Bi-containing oxide superconducting wire, and the coil 3 a superconducting coil made of a metal- sheathed, Bi-containing oxide superconducting wire. |
