MULTIMEDIA COMMUNICATION DEVICE, FRAGMENT SIZE NOTICE METHOD USED FOR IT AND STORAGE MEDIUM RECORDING ITS CONTROL PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the multimedia communication device that can receive a voice packet from other communication device with a delay within a permissible range and sets a size for fragment processing to be an optimum size. SOLUTION: When a frame reception section detects the occurrence of a voice call, a voice delay time measurement section 15 measures a delay time of the voice frame periodically. When a maximum delay time exceeds a permissible range in its unit time, a fragment size calculation section 20 decides a fragment processing size of a data frame from the delay time and a fragment size notice/end notice frame generating section 17 informs an adjacent station of its size. In the case that the fragment processing size informed before is not a size enough to decrease the delay, the size is calculated again and the result is informed of the adjacent station. The frame reception section 11 informs the adjacent station of the end of fragment processing when detecting the end of the voice call.
