1,124,397. Endless-track vehicle brakes. A MASERA. 20 April, 1966 [24 April, 1965], No. 17300/66. Heading B7H. [Also in Division F2] In an endless track vehicle with trackdriving sprockets 14 a track locking mechanism comprises sliders 20 movable in guides 16 in the vehicle frame 10 and having shaped surfaces 22 adapted to mesh with the teeth of the sprockets 14 and control means connected with the sliders to control the engagement of the sliders with the sprockets. As shown, a manually-operated valve C controls the supply of pressure hydraulic fluid to a cylinder 28 pivoted to the vehicle frame and containing a double-acting piston 26 connected by a pistonrod 24 to a slider 20. A spring may be provided between the slider and piston to ensure full engagement of the slider with the sprocket teeth. An interlock may be provided between the control valve C and a gear-change control to prevent driving of the vehicle with the lock engaged. |
