PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a multicast function and to operate it at high speed by providing a managing means for holding the address information discriminated that is not held by any storage means and that has been outputted from any storage means as address information capable of being assigned to a new input cell. SOLUTION: The address managing device is provided with port address managing device 1100-1 to 1100-4 for managing an address pointer for each port, idle address managing device 1200 for managing an idle address pointer, and queue control unit 1300 for controlling these managing devices. A port address memory 1110 of each managing device 1100 holds the address pointer for each port in the order of arrival and an address comparator 1120 compares the address pointer held in a port queue with the address pointer outputted from the port queue of the other port address managing device.
