PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer controller which can register an output format by using as a key a character string itself outputted as a watermark. SOLUTION: In the printer driver, a plotting information recording part 2103 receives print setting data from a user interface part 2101 and plotting data for every object from a graphics module 2001 respectively, records them in an intermediate file 2104 and stores on a hard disk 1006. An image data generation part 2105 reads the print setting data out of the intermediate file 2104 stored on the hard disk 1006, performs an initializing process and then receives the plotting data to generate image recording data to be transferred to a printer 1013 and which in handed to a print queue control part 2003. A watermark setting/registrating part 2112 in the user interface part 2101 processes user's setting operation regarding the watermark.
