PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data controller, an image recorder, an image data control method and a recording medium by which the burden of work of a user is reduced in control of image data. SOLUTION: This image data controller stores the image data recorded by a digital camera, together with its time limit of use in a hard disk, an image file recorded by the digital camera is reduced from the hard disk (S1, S2) when the image data controller is started, the time limit of use for the retrieved image file is confirmed (S3), the time limit of use is decided as to whether or not it has expired (S4), and when its time limit has expired, the image file is deleted (S5).
