PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which can correct a binding part image in real time without requiring a prescan and a page memory. SOLUTION: A document image and its background border line BL are divided into sections and the tilt of the border line is detected, section by section. As a page switching point is searched for in a vertical scanning direction from the right to the left in the figure, the tilt of the border line (angle from the horizontal line) increases toward a binding part and the difference in the tilt of the border line between the sections (1) and (2) becomes larger than a specific value. Then the difference in the tile of the border line between sections (2) and (3) also becomes larger than the specific value, so two sections wherein the difference in the tilt of the border lines between adjacent sections is larger than specific value succeed. Under this condition, the switching point of the head page is calculated.
