PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the write time of servo track signal by shortening the positioning time of internal actuator and improve writing quality of servo track signal by reducing vibration of the internal actuator. SOLUTION: In the servo track writing method for recording a servo track signal by utilizing a magnetic head, a first control means 70 defines the position of an internal actuator 56 when the magnetic head 54 is located at the target position as the moving target position Y0 to move an external actuator 60. A second control means 12 obtains, with an adder 14, the current position of the internal actuator 56 from displacement X1 and the current position Y of the external actuator 60. Moreover, a first deviation X2 between the moving target position Y0 and the current position Z is obtained and movement of internal actuator 56 is controlled so that the first deviation X2 is within the reference range and the internal actuator 56 is positioned to the moving target position Y0.
