摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily calculate and display the shape of a display screen or the planarity, when a panel is incorporated into a television set by obtaining the three-dimensional shape of a respective virtual image of the inner surface of a display panel, using the design value or measurement value of a panel shape and evaluating the display screen shape. SOLUTION: First, the inner/outer surface shape of a panel, the center thickness, and the refractive index of glass are obtained from a design value and are then set. Then, a group of rays directed from a point 10 being set on a panel inner surface 4 toward an eye area 8 of an observer are calculated by taking into consideration refraction on a panel outer surface 7, this calculation is repeated also for other points on the panel inner surface, and a group of virtual images are calculated. The surface of the virtual image obtained by a group of virtual images indicated by a broken line 9 indicates the three-dimensional shape of a display screen. The display screen can be evaluated by the three-dimensional shape. It is affective to evaluate the planarity of the display screen by using a specified expression and with a residue, when the depth width of the three-dimensional shape or the three-dimensional shape is approximated.
