PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To significantly improve efficiency generation of an editing list by showing the marks corresponding to the desired video special effect processes on a display means in the prescribed different display colors according to the types of the above processes when the editing list is generated. SOLUTION: An operator can designate both in and out points of a video part that is registered and used as a clip by clipping an in-point designating button 45 and an out-point designating button 46 while confirming visually the images which are displayed within a live video display part 44. Then the images of designated in and out points are shown at the in and out point image display parts 47 and 48 respectively. At the same time, the time codes of in and to point images which are set on a video tape are shown at the in and out point time code display parts 49 and 50 respectively and the material length of a designated clip is shown at a duration display part 51.
