PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of a photo film. SOLUTION: A film carrier 38 carries the photo film 22 and the carried photo film 22 is irradiated with light from a lamp 32. On the side of the lamp 32 from the photo film 22 inside an area irradiated with the light, a slit 71 extended in a direction orthogonal to the direction of carrying the photo film 22 is arranged. A line CCD 116 photometers images recorded on the photo film 22 in a carried state. Then, at least one of the slit width of the slit, the carrying speed of the photo film 22 and the illuminance of the lamp 32 is adjusted so as to make the exposure of the photo film 22 be not more than the maximum value of the predetermined exposure for not deteriorating the photo film.
