PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a camera consisting of a CCD image-pickup device for a microscope and to form an image having the number of pixels larger than the CCD imaging device. SOLUTION: A slide glass 33 on which a subject is fixed is slid in an X direction by a motor 3X. The motor 3X is fixed on a stage 31. The stage 31 is slid in a Y direction by a motor 3Y. The motor 3Y is fixed on a stage 32. The motors 3X and 3Y move the stages in fixed order synchronizing with the frame pulse of the CCD imaging device. When the stage is moved, a partial picture is taken while standing still during one frame. As soon as picture taking is finished, the stage is moved to take the next partial picture. Such operation is repeated by specified number of times.
