PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the drop of a contrast which is caused by the response speed shortage in the liquid crystal of a liquid crystal projector which performs interlaced display by wobbling. SOLUTION: A signal processing circuit 100 is provided between a video signal generation circuit 11 and an LCD driver 13 and a signal obtd. by emphasizing a level difference between fields of a video signal is supplied to each liquid crystal panel 23. The emphasis of the level difference of the video signal is performed, for instance, by calculating the difference between a signal that is delayed by a field memory and the original signal, adding the difference to the original signal, after amplifying the difference if necessary, and outputting it.
