<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detector capable of more accurately identifying plural vehicles running in parallel. SOLUTION: The object detector is provided with a detection part 12a for forming a scanning face 16a by radiating beams from the upper part of a lane, receiving the light reflected by a vehicle 10 advancing while blocking the scanning face 16a and measuring the cross-sectional shape of the vehicle 10 based on the received signal and a detection part 12b for forming a scanning face 16b partially superposed to the scanning face 16a by radiating beams from the upper part of the lane, receiving the light reflected by a vehicle 10 advancing while blocking the scanning face 16b and measuring the cross-sectional shape of the vehicle 10 based on the received signal.</p> |
