The mains adaptor (4) is of switching type and the housing (1) has external cooling ribs (10-12). The adaptor is in thermal contact with the housing inner side (22) adjacent to the cooling ribs. The outside of housing is fitted with a fan (2). The adaptor is directly secured to the housing inner side, to which are also fastened further components (5, 6). The cooling ribs may be integral parts of the housing. Near the cooling ribs is a recess (15) for the fan with inner spacers (14), supporting the fan from the recess bottom (16).
