The cuff rail which fits into the outer groove of a window fitment is made from profiled sheet metal whose maximum thickness is half the depth of the outer groove. The profiled metal plate is folded and profiled so that the rail (1,2) fits inside the outer contour of the casement. At least one end (5,6) of the rail is flat and has a thickness corresponding to the thickness of the sheet metal.
