A cycle saddle pillar, comprising a shock absorbing and/or spring element or an elastomeric body in the space enclosed by articulated elements, is new. A saddle pillar comprises mobile articulated elements forming an enclosed space which contains a fitted shock absorbing and/or spring element or which is /-60% filled with an elastomeric body such as a polyurethane body. Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) a multi-wheel conveyance, especially a bicycle, equipped with the above saddle pillar; and (ii) a method of altering the shock absorbing and/or spring properties of the above saddle pillar.
