The lock cylinder has a cylinder core (5,6) axially immovable but rotatable in the cylinder housing (1, 2) to turn the lock bit (8). The lock bit groove (7) which is defined by the cylinder housing and the housing web has in its corner areas a radius (15, 16) or bevel. The radius extends out at the perpendicular edges close to the cylinder housing and at the horizontal edge between the perpendicular edges. The radius can be formed as an undercut section in the corner areas of the lock bit groove (7).
