<p>The invention provides an apparatus that aerates the aquatic environment and agitates the bottom of the aquatic environment. The invention provides a variable buoyancy aerator (10) which cycles between an aeration mode and agitation mode for maintaining an aqua-culture environment. The aerator (10) has a pump (12) and an evacuable float (42) above the pump (12). The aerator (10) is disposed within a guide (48) that confines the lateral movement of the aerator (10) within the aquatic environment. The pump includes an impeller (14) and one or more tangential outlets (32).</p> |
