PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction welding equipment for a propeller shaft excellent in durability in which a shaft stub is reduced in size and weight, the slip at a large diameter shaft end and a twist of a small diameter base shaft are eliminated, and the commercial value is improved. SOLUTION: In a friction welding equipment of a propeller shaft in which one shaft and the other shaft stub 2 are concentrically arranged, and pressed against each other while rotated in a relative manner to each other to effect the friction welding, the shaft stub 2 expands one end of a small diameter base shaft 3 to form a large diameter shaft end 4, locking engagement parts 3a, 4a are formed on both the small diameter base shaft 3 and the large diameter shaft end 4, a rotation holding means 20 to hold and rotate the shaft stub 2 is respectively engaged with both locking engagement parts, and integratedly rotated.
