PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injector that suppresses leakage of fuel pressure from a pressure control chamber by improving sealing capability at sitting of a needle on a valve seat. SOLUTION: An injector that lifts a needle valve 3 by relieving a fuel pressure within a pressure control chamber 5 is provided with a convex-shaped valve seat 8 having a relief hole 10 at its top end for relieving fuel pressure within the pressure control chamber 5, a needle 13 having a flat contact surface 12 that can be brought into contact with or away from a top portion 9 of the valve seat 8 for opening/closing the relief hole 10, and a softened layer 41 that hits against the top portion 9 of the valve seat 8 repeatedly so as to be matched at the shape thereof.
