PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the labor required for the initial opening movement of a sliding door by preventing the sliding door from bouncing back from a column when it is violently closed. SOLUTION: A hook member 2 freely oscillationally journaled to the edge of a sliding door 1 abutting against a column 20 is provided inside the sliding door 1 and an engagement member 21 is provided in the position of the column 20 corresponding to the hook member 2. When the sliding door 1 collides against the column 20, the hook member 2 is rotated by an inertial force and temporarily engaged with the engagement member 21, and immediately after this temporary engagement the hook member 2 is released from the engagement member 21 because of its own weight and automatically returned into the sliding door 1.
