PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article receiving device which can quickly confirm that a visitor is a normal home delivery trader in the case where a home delivery article is delivered to a residence where a resident is absent. SOLUTION: A home server 31 takes in the contents of an ID card possessed by a visitor from an ID card reading means, and calls up the PHS 39 of a resident during going out to send the information of the presence of the visitor, and the image of the vistor is sent through an internet 37 to an external terminal 40. The home server 31 unlocks the lock of the door 18 of an article receiving means according to a command given by the resident during going out from the external terminal. The home server 31 perceives the receiving of a baggage and sends the information of having received the baggage through the internet 27 to the external terminal 40. The resident during going out sends the command of confirming registration of a received baggage from the external terminal 40, and the home server 31 confirms and registers the receipt of the baggage on the ID card according to the said command.
