In order to seal off a rotary damper (14) gas-tightly relative to a duct wall (1) in the closed position, a sealing element (22) having sealing rings is pressed against the rotary damper and against a shoulder of the duct wall by means of pneumatic cylinders (4, 5). To open the rotary damper (14), the sealing element is first of all displaced axially out of the pivoting range of the rotary damper and the rotary damper is then pivoted by means of another pneumatic cylinder (3). This makes it possible to arrange the pivot axis (10) in the centre of the rotary damper, making possible a construction which is simple and favourable in terms of flow. <IMAGE> |
