PRODUCTION OF ALUMINUM ALLOY SHEET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy sheet having excellent appearance uniformity after a surface treatment and bendability by a continuous casting method. SOLUTION: A molten aluminum alloy contg. <=0.8 wt.% Fe, <=0.8 wt.% Si and <=0.2 wt.% Cu and consisting of the balance Al and inevitable impurities is continuously cast to a cast sheet of <=10 mm in thickness. The cast sheet is subjected to cold rolling at a draft of >=20% and is subjected to a heat treatment at >=450 deg.C. The rolled sheet is then subjected to cold rolling at a draft of >=30% then to a heat treatment of >=400 deg.C at a heating up rate of >=100 deg.C/min.
