PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve optical quality of a molding by transferring a molding material from a resin material storing means to a drying step before a material supplying step for supplying the material to a heating means, and avoiding oxidizing, discoloring of the material with the air via the step of replacing the air in the material from inert gas in the drying step in a method for supplying the material of a molding machine. SOLUTION: When an oxygen concentration in an upper hopper 12 arrives at a predetermined concentration, inert gas is supplied by an inert gas supply control means via a control valve 38 and a supply tube 22. The air is replaced with the gas in the material in the hopper 22 by exhausting the air and supplying the gas. The material in the hopper 22 is fed into a drying hopper 10, and dried in the hopper 10. The material in the hopper 10 is received by the gas via a supply tube 34 by an inert gas supply means to be prevented from being oxidized and discolored in the material.
