PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combination between a cylinder liner and a piston for an internal combustion engine being excellent in wear and abrasion resistance, seizure resistance and heat resistance. SOLUTION: This combination between a cylinder liner and a piston for an internal combustion engine comprises an aluminum alloy formed with AIN on the surface, and it is comprised of a sintered aluminum alloyed cylinder liner whose AIN content is more than 3 wt.% and less than 20 wt.% an aluminum alloyed piston formed with a coating layer containing at least one type selected from a group consisting of an Sn plating layer, an Ni-P plating layer and a heat resistant resin layer on the peripheral surface.
