PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an uniform scarfing method of a steel product which has a good fire catching property and does not have nozzle clogging. SOLUTION: An upper face unit 1 is moved >=60 mm behind a lower face unit 2, and fusion cutting of a steel 9 is started <=5 sec after preheating. Next, after prheated by a combustion nozzle 6 dedicated for an upper face, by an oxygen slit nozzle 8 of upper/lower faces arranged at a position apart >=60 mm behind the lower face unit 2 beforehand, scarfing of the steel product 9 is started <=5 sec after preheating.
