PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire reinforced with steel cords having an enhanced durability by improving the bonding performance of the steel cords with a coating rubber in a belt layer consisting of rubber material reinforced with steel cords. SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire reinforced with steel cords has a belt layer comprising rubber material reinforced with steel cords, wherein the member contacting with the outer side face in tire radial direction of the belt layer is formed from a rubber compound containing sulfur of a higher concentration than the sulfur concentration in the rubber compound for steel cord coating used in the belt layer.
