PURPOSE:To ensure that thermal energy is prevented from remaining in a thermal recording material irradiated with a laser beam, and a high quality image is obtained. CONSTITUTION:The subject thermal recording device consists of a laser beam irradiation mechanism 12 which gives specific thermal energy to the thermal recording material S by irradiation with a laser beam in a main scan direction to record an image, an auxiliary scan transport mechanism 14 which transports the thermal recording material S in an auxiliary scan direction, and a cooling mechanism 16 which cools a part irradiated immediately after the irradiation with the laser beam L, on the thermal recording material S. This cooling mechanism 16 is equipped with a tubular element 40 to which a cooling water is supplied. |
