PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the generation of an odor of soot at the ignition even when a vaporizer is at a high temperature state. SOLUTION: In this petroleum fan heater, a liquid fuel to be supplied from a fuel supplying device is vaporized by a vaporizer, the vaporized fuel is mixed with air for combustion and the mixed gas is ignited to burn. In this case, a vaporizer temperature sensor 14 for detecting the temperature of the vaporizer is provided to control the quantity of air for combustion at the ignition based on the detected temperature by the vaporizer temperature sensor 14 while a microcomputer 10 is provided to control the quantity of the vaporized fuel at the ignition based on the detected temperature by the vaporizer temperature sensor.
