PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal gear life device capable of safely and smoothly performing replacement work of a buffer ring. SOLUTION: A terminal gear lift device 1 comprises a base body 2 of flat shape, a plurality of pantograph-type jacks 3, 4 fixed onto this base body 2, a rail body 5 fixed almost horizontally onto these jacks 3, 4, and a plurality of gear shaft carriers 6, 7 mounted slidably on this rail body 5. When this constitution is formed by providing receiving surfaces 6b-1, 7b-1 for mounting a terminal gear shaft 10 respectively in these gear shaft carriers 6, 7, a terminal gear 9 of a passenger conveyer can be easily lifted up with an attitude left as horizontally held, by jack up operation.
