PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain paper separation performance satisfactorily by preventing the interval between a pair of separation claws from being spread from a prescribed width in a state storing the paper sheet. SOLUTION: A pair of spacer members 30, 30 are U-shaped members opened downward and have a pair of claws in its lower parts. Contact parts 31 are brought in contact with the outside faces of side guides 16, 17, while contact parts 32 are brought in contact with the inner walls of side walls 1a, 1a of a cassette main body. A pair of spacer members 30, 30 are so attached as engaging the claws 33 in holes 1c provided in the bottom face of the cassette main body 1. The spacer members 30 have such mechanisms as to be in contact with only the side guides 16, 17, have U shape so as to be bent, and can facilitate release or the engagement between the claws 33 and the holes 1c. The spacer members 30, 30 are attached to the paper feed cassette 1 so as to prevent the side guides 16, 17 from being spread laterally. The separation claws 24, 24 are thus prostrated laterally to prevent the interval from being spread.
