PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut easily under water. SOLUTION: In an underwater wire saw technique, a driving device 14 for a wire saw 12 is set on the ground side, and a guide sieve for changing over the direction of the wire saw 12 is set in the vicinity of a preset cutting line of a structure 10. On the horizontal preset cutting line for the structure 10, a nozzle 40 jetting a mixed fluid of compressed air and pressurized water is set in the vicinity of a front end whereon the wire saw 12 is brought into friction contact with the structure 10. The structure 10 is cut horizontally by the friction contact of the wire saw 12 with the outer face of the structure 10 and circulating travel thereon, and at that time, a pressurized mixed fluid formed of compressed air and pressurized water is jetted out of the nozzle 40 to a section whereon the wire saw 12 is brought into contact with the structure 10 along the traveling direction of the wire saw 12.
